What if a plant-based diet not only made you feel better, but actually made you better? Would that help get the ball rolling?
Well according to a study published online in Nutrition Research:
63 overweight or obese participants following vegan, vegetarian, pesco-vegetarian, or omnivorous diet…consumed more fiber and less cholesterol and saturated fat. They also experienced lower dietary inflammation scores compared to those on nonvegetarian or semivegetarian diets.
Sounds impressive, but what is inflammation? According to Medical News Today:
Inflammation is part of the body’s immune response. Initially, it is beneficial when, for example, your knee sustains a blow and tissues need care and protection. However, sometimes inflammation can cause further inflammation; it can become self-perpetuating. More inflammation is created in response to the existing inflammation.
