FOOD FOR THOUGHT: Lab milk, anyone?

New company Muufri is taking on what some might have called impossible just 5 years ago. They want to make “better dairy products that everyone can afford”…but how? Through science silly.

According to their site,

Using the same principles of biotechnology behind beer or vegetarian rennet, Muufri will make milk that tastes and functions just like animal-produced milk, but without the problems associated with industrial animal facilities.

Are people interested in milk made in a lab? That depends. It seems that industry might be, with reporting that Muufri has received backing from tech incubator Horizon Ventures (they’re the folks that helped bring you Spotify.)
