New company Muufri is taking on what some might have called impossible just 5 years ago. They want to make “better dairy products that everyone can afford”…but how? Through science silly.
According to their site, muufri.com:
Using the same principles of biotechnology behind beer or vegetarian rennet, Muufri will make milk that tastes and functions just like animal-produced milk, but without the problems associated with industrial animal facilities.
Are people interested in milk made in a lab? That depends. It seems that industry might be, with ModernFarmer.com reporting that Muufri has received backing from tech incubator Horizon Ventures (they’re the folks that helped bring you Spotify.)
